Broken, burst, frozen and leaking pipes, found first and fixed properly.
A broken pipe is rarely where the water shows up. Water from a cracked line in a wall runs along the framing before it stains a ceiling, and a break in the yard line can soak the ground for weeks before the bill gives it away. Encore Plumbing repairs leaking, cracked, corroded, burst and frozen pipes across Midlothian, Waxahachie, Red Oak and the DFW metro, and because leak detection is our specialty, we find the break before we cut anything.
Once it is found, we repair the damaged section in copper or PEX and check it under pressure before it is closed up. When the same pipe keeps failing, we will tell you plainly whether a section replacement, a re-route or a repipe is the better fix.
Most of the broken pipes we repair come back to one of these.
The expansive clay under DFW homes swells when wet and shrinks in a drought. That flexes water lines under slabs and in yards until something cracks.
February 2021 showed how fast attic lines, exterior walls and hose bibs split when temperatures stay below freezing. The leak usually shows when it thaws.
Galvanized pipe rusts from the inside, and older copper can develop pinholes. Both show up as low pressure, discolored water or one leak after another.
North Texas water carries minerals that build up inside pipes, valves and water heaters, restricting flow and wearing on the parts that open and close.
Roots go looking for water, and they find it at cracked joints in yard lines and sewer laterals.
Fittings, valves and supply lines all have a working life. A house that has had several small leaks is often telling you the rest of the line is close behind.
Water running right now? Shut off the main valve first. Our emergency plumbing page has the full checklist.
If it is still running, we get the water off at the main or the nearest valve before anything else.
Acoustic listening, line tracing and pressure testing tell us where the pipe failed, so the opening is small and in the right place.
The damaged length is cut out and replaced in copper or PEX. Under a slab, that can mean one clean access cut, a tunnel from outside, or a re-route around the slab.
We check the repair under pressure before the wall, floor or trench is closed.
Shut off the water at the main valve, turn off the water heater, open a low faucet to drain the pressure, and call (214) 325-8046.
Before a hard freeze, disconnect garden hoses, cover outdoor hose bibs, open cabinet doors on exterior walls so warm air reaches the pipes, and let a faucet drip on the coldest nights. Know where your main shutoff is before you need it.
When leaks keep coming back in different places, or the water runs rusty and the pressure keeps dropping, the pipe itself is worn out. A whole-house or partial repipe ends the cycle.
Yes. We locate the line between the meter and the house, find the break, and repair or replace the damaged section.
We do this work across Midlothian, Waxahachie, Red Oak, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Mansfield and the rest of the DFW metro.
Tell us what is going on: a hidden leak, no hot water, a gas line, a clogged drain, a sewer backup or a repipe. We will get you a straight answer and a time. Water actively coming in? Call right now.
